Young Lady Trojan Team Defeats Lady Scouts Squad
Tuesday, January 8, the Lady Scouts were in action against the Lady Trojans of Tri County. The Lady Trojans (7-3) defeated the Lady Scouts (0-11) 29 to 46. Again, the Lady Scouts played an almost even second half against the Lady Trojans, but were unable to muster enough points in the first half to keep them in the game. The shots were there, the Lady Scouts just couldn’t get them to fall. The Lady Trojans were in some foul trouble by half time and the Lady Scouts had shot 14 free throws only making 5. The Lady Scouts were led by Morgan O. and Hannah B. with 10 points apiece. Hannah B. grabbed 14 rebounds and Morgan O. added 7 to the effort. The team shot 9 of 36 from the floor for 25% and 11 of 23 from the free throw line for 47.8%. The Lady Scouts pulled down 9 more boards than the Lady Trojans for a rebounding difference of 30 to 21. The team accumulated 8 assists, 10 steals, and 2 blocks for the evening. The Lady Scouts were able to limit their turnovers to just 23, 12 in the first half and 11 in the second. David City will be in action again at home Friday and Saturday evening.
