Lady Scouts Capture First Round Sub-district Win

Strong First Half Secures Win

The David City Lady Scouts captured a first round win in sub-district play Monday, February 11.  They defeated Raymond Central (0-19) 48 to 35.  The Lady Scouts led from the beginning and never looked back.  The Lady Scouts outscored the Lady Mustangs 17 to 5 in the first quarter and 12 to 3 in the second quarter to take a 29 to 8 lead into the locker room.  The Lady Mustangs played a little better in the second half and the Lady Scouts maintained.  All 10 Lady Scouts suited up for the game saw some action.  Hannah B. led the Lady Scouts with 12 points.  Everyone, except one, scored for the Lady Scouts.  Megan R. had 9 points; Rebecca H. and Morgan O. each had 6; Sabrina M. and Nikki R. each added 4; Staci O. had 3; and Elizabeth E. and Justine R. each added 2.  Hannah B. led the boards with 10.  Sabrina M., Justine R., and Morgan O. pulled down 5 boards apiece.  The Lady Scouts finished the night 17 of 43 from the floor for 39.5% and 13 of 31 from the free throw line for 41.9%.  The Scouts controlled the boards with 33 rebounds and tallied 25 turnovers, 11 assists, 16 steals, and 8 blocks.  The Lady Scouts now advance to second round sub-district action against Wahoo Neumann Tuesday, February 12 at 6:15 at Seward High School.
