David City Wrestlers Finish Third At C-1 Disricts

David City was one match away from the district runner-up when the Bennington 285 lb. wrestler won the last match of the day to help Bennington to the runner-up finish.  Fort Calhoun won the the disrict with 196 pts.  David City qualified 7 wrestlers to wrestle at the state champions at the Qwest center in Omaha.  Fort Calhoun qualified 9 and Bennington qualified 7.

David City's qualifiers who will represent David City at the state meet are freshman Aaron R. at 119 lb., soph. Tanner W. at 125 lb., junior Travis T. at 145 lb., junior Chris P. at 152 lb., junior Tyler P. at 160 lb., senior Ethan H. at 171 lb. and sophmore Lucas K. at 189 lb.  

David City had 3 district champs with Travis W., Chris P. and Ethan H.  Finishing second was Aaron R. and finishing in third were Tanner W. and Lucas K.  Finishing in fourth was Tyler P.

Team scoring:  Fort Calhoun 196, Bennington 161, David City 156.5, Ashland Greenwood 109.5, Arlington 102, Lincoln Christian 83, Bishop Neumann 79, Johnso County 58, Louisville 55, Raymond Central 54.5, Malcom 54, Palmyra 52, D.C.West 44, Conestoga 39, Southern 12, Yutan 8.

The state meet will be held at the Qwest Center in Omaha Feb. 15 starting at 8:30 a.m., Feb. 16 8:30 a.m. and Feb. 17 starting at 8:30 and the finals at 2:00.
