DAVID CITY FINISHES 4TH WITH TWO IN FINALS

The David City wrestlers finished in 4th place at the state wrestling meet at the Qwest Center in Omaha. It was a tight team race up until the finals on Saturday.  Four teams were in the race for the championship with Madison finishing in 1st, Bennington 2nd., Sargent-Burwell 3rd. and David City finishing in 4th place.  Each team had 4 medal winners.  

Travis W. won his second state championship at 145 lb. when he defeated Breckin C. from Centennnial 9-4.  Tanner W. was in the finals and was defeated by Ryan P. from Raymond Central 17-1.  David City received a 3rd. place medal from Chris P. when he defeated Jason M. from Wilber-Clatonia 2-0.  Chris fought through a torn cartilage injury to place at state. David City's final medal came from Ethan H. when he defeated Tracer H. from Morrill 6-2.  Ethan finished his senior year by winning his last match.

The wrestling team would like to thank all the fans who supported us throughout the year and at the state meet.  We are looking for a very good year next year when we return 68.5 pts to the state meet.

Team results:  1. Madison 97.5, 2. Bennington 91.5, 3. Sargent-Burwell 84, 4. David City 78.5, 5. Gordon-Rushville 72, 6. Kimball 70, 7. Norfolk Catholic 66, 8. Fort Calhoun 65.5, Lutheran High Northeast 56, Rayamond Central 51.5.
