MUSIC: Students in fourth grade have just finished up their assessment on the instrument families. Next year's fifth graders are able to take band during the school day, so parents should talk with their fourth graders about their desire to play an instrument. Dietze Music in Omaha will rent horns on a month-to-month basis so you can allow your child to "try out" an instrument before you spend any money buying one. They will have an instrument display night here at school in August. There are also always used instruments for sale in the community. They should be checked over by an instrument repairman, however, before you purchase. Just in case there is extensive repair needed. Students are taking assessments on the 9 music standards that we have not yet done. Remember, if you want to talk about the new report card and your child's grades, feel free to contact me.
