David City Boys

Scouts Take 3rd out of 18 Teams

The David City Boy's Track Team traveled to Lincoln on Saturday to compete in the Nebraska Wesleyan Invite- Indoor.  The team had a great day, finishing third out of eighteen teams. The boys won a total of 11 medals. Place winners are:

Keaton P. placed second in the Triple Jump with a mark of 41-04.75, that is a Top Ten performance and less than 5 inches off is personal best of last year. He also placed third in the Long Jump with a 18-11.25 jump. Keaton bought home one more medal in the 200m dash placing fifth with time of 25.20. He did not place in the 55m dash but set a record with a time of 7.23 sec.

Aaron S. placed fifth in the 400m with a time of 56.70

Kristian M. placed fifth in the 1600m run with a time of 5:28.70

Matt U. placed first in the 3200m run with a time of 11:34.70. Matt set a blistering pace that many of the runners failed match. Both he and Travis lapped most of the runners.

Travis L. finished second in the 3200m run with a time of 11:40.50

4x400 Relay placed first with a time of 3:50.00, team members are Aaron S, Seth B, Justin C, Folkert V. The team may have had a shot at a little better had they not had to deal with people on the track during the race. Three times they either hit someone or had near misses.

Travis W. and Lucas K. both had personal bests at this meet. Lucas raised is shot put throw by over four feet and Travis raised his by nearly three feet.

Nolan V. did not place in his event but set a school record in the 55m dash with a time of 7.23 sec.

The scouts had a good first outing, setting some good for the season. Many of the boys just missed a medal by finishing outside the top six .
