April 28, 2008
David City FFA members prepared the shop for a petting zoo and also presented a Safety program for K-6 students from David City Elementary and Bellwood Education Center on April 25th. The students had to tolerate cold damp weather in order to attend the event.
The equipment for the Safety Program was provided by
Plains Power and Equipment of David City.
Dana R., Travis T., Tyler P., Adam F., Taylor N., and Chri P. were in charge of the Safety Program for the 4th - 6th grade students. They did cut the program short from the original plan due to the wet cold weather conditions.
The Petting Zoo included baby chicks, baby ducks, calves, lambs, goats, Dude the donkey, Great Dane Pups, kittens, hen and rooster and a Miniature horse. Elementary students were scheduled at various times of the day so there would be sufficient room for viewing the animals. Many high school students also came from various classes with their instructors throughout the day.
