2008 Track and Field Update 5/17
Track Season Is At An End
by Larry Willis
May 17, 2008
With the season concluded, the Scout Track and Field programs have enjoyed a record breaking season. Both teams have shown that they can compete with any school in our class and have even knocked off several Class B schools in the process. Even though we are small in number we make up for it by having outstanding dedication and a championship spirit. Area schools are taking notice of what these fine young men and women have done this year. We have received many compliments from area coaches on how well the teams are performing.
Our lack of depth as proved our only weakness this season. However, the Track programs have had an awesome year and have placed in every meet this year. We had a strong showing at the District meet on May 8th. The Boys finished fourth and the Girls placed seventh, with qualifiers in five events
Our season up to this point:
Over 1000 points scored this season.
Relays teams from both teams have earned spots on the Nebraska Top Ten Track and Field Leader Standings for Class C.
Roughly 227 medals earned by the Boys and Girls. Plus many top six finishes in meets that did not award medals.
87 Entries placed on to the David City All Time Top Ten Performance Lists.
