The
K-6 students had a chance to see the county drug dog in action on
Tuesday morning in the elementary multipurpose room. Deputy Sheriff
Todd Yost brought his drug dog Brandi to the elementary for a
demonstration on how they work as a team. Drugs were hid in the
multipurpose room and Brandi found the drugs hidden between one of
the lunch tables. Another demonstration took place on the west side
of the elementary building. Brandi found a hidden stash of drugs
under the hood of my pick up truck. I was framed!! By the kids’
reactions, I think they enjoyed the demonstrations. Click the

There are a few dates that parents need to remember for December. The elementary Christmas Program is on Tuesday, December 9th. The rehearsal is at 2:15p.m and the performance is at 7:00p.m. in the high school gym. Tuesday the 23rd is a 1:30 dismissal for vacation and the classroom Christmas parties. The parties will begin at 12:30p.m.and will include a student gift exchange. A note will be sent home later.
The
Student Council is working with Blue Valley Community Action again
this year. They are sponsoring a food drive. Here is a list of the
things that the elementary kids are collecting: Soup, pancake mix,
shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brushes, varieties of cold cereals,
syrup, flour, sweet potatoes and dish detergent. Blue Valley does
not do need beans and corn at this time. The council members will
collect the non-perishable items from the classrooms on Wednesday,
December 10th and deliver the goodies to Blue Valley on
Thursday, December 11th over the noon recess. I
encourage everyone to participate in this worthwhile cause.

Just a couple of reminders:
1. Please make sure your child has a pair of boots that fit and a pair of gloves. It has snowed already and it has been cold enough for winter jackets, stocking caps and gloves.
2. There will be NO January Double Scoop.
