Trojans Defeat Lady Scouts
Turnovers Costly
Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers!! What else can you say, but turnovers. The Lady Scouts turned the ball over 39 times against the Tri County Trojans Tuesday, January 13. Turnovers happened in the full court against their press and they happened in the half court while trying to run the offense. David City only had 3 points at the end of the first quarter, all of which were free throws. Considering how the Lady Scouts had turned the ball over and not taken many shots, they were only down 10 - 3. The score was 25 - 12 at half-time, but still not out of reach if the Lady Scouts could control their turnovers in the second half. At half time, the Lady Scouts had 22 of their 39 turnovers. Unfortunately, the turnovers did not stop after half-time with the first four David City possessions ending in turnovers. Tri County beat the Lady Scouts 54 - 36. David City was 12 of 27 from the floor to end the game for 44.4%. The Lady Scouts were 12 of 20 from the free throw line and out rebounded the Trojans 27 to 19. 13 of the Trojans 19 rebounds were offensive boards that they eventually turned into points. Leading the way for the Scouts was Hannah B. with 15 and Melanie H. with 9. Justine R. led rebounders with 7 and Hannah B. was close behind with 6.
