Conference Tournament First Round
Thayer Central Titans
First round of the conference tournament paired David City up against the Lady Titans of Thayer Central. Thayer Central had the home court advantage, which meant David City had to travel to Hebron 1 hour and 45 minutes away. Similar to Lutheran High Northeast, we don't normally play Thayer Central or have an opportunity to see them play, so we didn't know much about them. We played a respectable first half and went into the locker room down 18 - 14. We were in the hunt at halftime and had things that we could easily improve. However, the defense did not improve in the second half and offensive production did not improve either. The Lady Scouts fell to the Lady Titans 43 - 27. David City scored single digits each quarter with 8, 6, 8, and 5 points. You can not win a game with that many low scoring quarters. The Lady Scouts were led in scoring by Justine R. with 6. Rebounders were led by Justine R. with 8 and Hannah B. with 6. The team ended the night 13 of 49 from the floor for 26.5% and 1 of 3 from the free throw line for 33.3%. Thayer Central advanced in the conference tournament to take on Sandy Creek the following night.
