Sub-district Action

Round 2 with Lakeview

The C1-6 sub-district paired the #4 seed Lakeview Viqueens against the #5 seed David City Lady Scouts. The last time the two teams played back in December, the game went down to the wire ending in a three point victory for Lakeview. The Lady Scouts had not played very well in the first half the first time around and had something to prove to the Viqueens. Monday, February 16 set the stage for the second meeting of the two teams. The Lady Viqueens came into the game with 3 wins, 1 against David City and 2 against Schuyler. Once again, the game went down to the wire. The game was close the whole way, but unfortunately the game ended in favor of the Lady Viqueens again. The final score was David City 44 and Lakeview 48. The Lady Scouts fought hard and finally played a complete game (all four quarters). David City was led by Justine R. with a season high 16 points and Hannah B. with 15. Rebounding was also led by Justine R. with 9 and Hannah B. with 7. The team finished 17 or 45 from the floor for 37.8% and 9 of 13 from the free throw line for 69.2%. The Scouts finished with 25 rebounds, 15 assists, 6 steals, 16 turnovers, and 6 blocks for the game. The Viqueens of Lakeview advanced on to Tuesday night where they took on the #1 seed Twin River Titans. The game went into overtime with Twin River coming out on top 47 - 40. Columbus Scotus controlled the second game Tuesday night against the Tigers of North Bend beating them 44 - 30. Wednesday night was the final night of the C1-6 sub-district which paired the Twin River Titans against the Scotus Shamrocks. Scotus was once again in control of their game beating the Titans handily 33 - 13. The Shamrocks advance to the district finals against the Bishop Neumann Cavaliers next Friday night.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Lady Scouts this season and special thanks go out to those who attended the last game of the season at sub-districts. The girls gave you everything they had and really appreciated the support from those who were there. It is unfortunate that there was not more support from our student body. You never know how the game might have turned out with a little more support from their peers. We were definitely out cheered by the Lakeview student body.
