Streubing is DCPS Educator of the Year for 09-10
Bev Streubing Honored As School Year Begins
Beverly Streubing was honored on Wednesday, August 11th as the Educator of the Year for 2009-2010. The award was announced by Superintendent Jerry Phillips at the annual kick off luncheon of the David City Public Schools. Mrs. Streubing was nominated by DCHS principal Bill Lentz. Mrs. Streubing serves the district as the Alternative Education director and as the high school reading teacher. In his nomination of Streubing, Lentz highlighted Mrs. Streubing's fidelity to the reading program and her involvement with helping students get on track with credit retrieval through alternative education. It was also mentioned that Mrs. Streubing develops rapport with her students and shows genuine concern for them not only as students, but as individuals. Mrs. Streubing began her career in the David City Elementary were she had served in both special and regular education. In recent years Mrs. Streubing has made the transition to the secondary level where she serves in her current capacities. Mrs. Streubing is beginning her 30th year as a teacher in the district.
