Middle School Football Kicks Off Season
Scouts Fall Short
The Middle School football team kicked off their season against the North Bend Tigers on Thursday, September 8th. The Scouts are starting the year off without a lot of experience. In the first game of the season the inexperience showed up and the Scouts couldn't shake off the first game jitters. Penalties and fumbles by the Scouts hampered the offense from moving the ball consistently. The Tigers of North Bend got on the board early, taking the opening drive of the contest 60 yards to take the lead and they never looked back. The Scout defense played well but had no answer for North Bend’s 6’ 4 receiver. The Scouts got on the board in the middle of the fourth quarter on a 20 yard run Landon S. The Scouts battled back and got some offense going late in the fourth quarter but the mental mistakes were too much for the Scouts to overcome. The Scouts lost the game 27- 7. The Scouts rushing attack was lead by 8th grader Devin B. and 7th grader Landon S. making up for all but 12 yards of the Scout’s total offense. Overall, the Scouts performed well as a unit and gained some quality experience. The Scouts are looking to get their first win of the season at home against Cross County at 4:30 on the 26th of September.
