Twin River & Milford Too Much For Lady Scouts to Handle

The Lady Scouts still searching for their first win against varsity competition, played Twin River January 9 in David City.  The Lady Titans dashed the Lady Scouts hopes of a win with a 58 to 32 victory.  The Lady Scouts were only able to get four girls involved in scoring with Hannah B. getting 14, Morgan O. 8, Miranda F. 6, and Justine R. 4.  David City ended the game with 11 of 34 shooting from the floor and 10 of 20 shooting from the free throw line.  David City also pulled down 25 rebounds, assisted on 9 shots, stole the ball 5 times, and blocked 2 shots.  Although the Lady Scouts kept their fouls to 13, they turned the ball over 24 times.

 

David City took another shot at victory on Saturday, January 9 when they traveled to Milford to face the Eagles.  Once again, the Lady Scouts fell short being outscored 51 to 31.  Hannah B. led scorers with 17 with Justine R. and Morgan O. adding 5.  Hannah B. also led rebounding with 12 boards.  Miranda F. and Melanie H. added 6 and 4, respectively.  The team shot 13 of 46 from the floor and 5 of 14 from the free throw line.  The Lady Scouts grabbed 26 rebounds and 7 steals, while dishing out 8 assists and blocking 3 shots.  The team is still working on bringing down the number of turnovers and fouls committed each game with them posting 22 turnovers and 18 fouls on the evening.  With the loss to Milford, David City holds an 0-8 record.  The Lady Scouts are in action again with Tri County on January 13, Cross County on January 16, and Malcolm on January 17.  The next three games are all on the road.
