2010 David City Middle School Club Volleyball Season

Mrs. Lentz and Mrs. Grosc will be starting a Club Volleyball Team made up of 8th grade girls who plan on playing volleyball for the David City Scouts next fall.  The David City Club Volleyball team will compete in the Columbus Area Junior High Volleyball League in Columbus. The dates are Sunday afternoons (Feb. 21, 28, Mar. 7, 14, 21, & 28th ) at Columbus Senior High School. The Double elimination tournament will be March 28th.  The 8th grade team will play at 3:00 PM.  All teams need to report and check in at least one half hour before competition begins, so that roster and waiver forms can be verified.  No player can play for more than one team.

We will have a meeting after school at 3:35 PM on Jan.26th for those girls interested in participating.  The meeting will be in the Commons Area.  We will set up some practice times as soon as we find out the numbers participating.  Practice times will most likely be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 until 5:45 PM.  We would like to practice in Bellwood at the school's  gym.  Girls wanting a ride to Bellwood can ride Nancy Romshek’s bus from David City to Bellwood.  Girls must be out on her bus as soon as possible.

All players making the Tournament Team need to let Coach Grosc or Coach Lentz know if they are going to play by Feb. 21 in order to get waiver forms signed. The waiver form must be notarized before participating.

The Team fee is $200.00 for each team to play in the Columbus League.  The cost will be divided between the girls equally.   The name of the Club team will be the DC ACES.

Checks for the fee are to be made out to: Connie Lentz by February 18th or 21st.
All girls on the Club Team must have their waiver form and money to Mrs. Lentz before they can play on Feb 21st.

This is a Club Volleyball program with the goal of improving the quality of players for the David City Scouts volleyball program. The girls will learn volleyball skills and play a competitive schedule.  The team will get at least 4 matches every Sunday in a pool play format.  The last Sunday will be a tournament seeded by the pool play.  The players will also have to officiate and call lines when they are not playing.
