Scouts Softball Team Opens Season With Exciting Win
Rech's clutch hit wins the game
Opening night at the softball complex produced a big crowd, four softball games and plenty of excitement. David City used a strong pitching performance and great defense to defeat Schuyler three to two in the bottom the seventh inning in the nightcap. Amber K led off the seventh inning with a solid single to center field, stole second and later scored the winning run on Sammi R.'s base hit to provide the difference in the ball game. Brooke V. provided a strong pitching performance in only allowing one earned run and striking out seven Schuyler batters to earn the win on the mound.
Earlier in the evening the Scouts were not able to muster any sort of offense against a quality Twin River softball team and went down to defeat 8-0. David City next travels to Raymond Central to play a triangular against Raymond Central and Conestoga on Thursday August 26th. Start times for the contest should be around 6:00 and 8:00 P.M.
