DC Breakers Tourney

MONDAY, MARCH 8  - BREAKFAST: Mini Pancakes, Sausage, Juice or Milk

Academic Code - Ineligibility List is compiled

First day of Middle School Track practice.

FCCLA Members vote for officers by secret ballot in FCS Room.

FAFSA Filing from 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 pm in the computer lab.  Appointments must be made with EducationQuest.

Chapter FFA Meeting at 6:15 p.m. in the Ag Room.

Driver's Education classes begin.  Classes are in the tech lab from 6 to 9 pm.

TUESDAY, MARCH 9 - BREAKFAST:  Choice of Cereal, Juice or Milk 

Davi C.competes at the State Georgraphic Bee.  Good Luck!

STAY-U meeting at 6 pm in Room 306.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

CHAPTER FFA MEETING ON MARCH 8TH AT 6:15 IN THE AG ROOM.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Kocian.  Items of discussion include officer applications/interviews, banquet, state convention, conservation sensation and more!!

ON MARCH 20TH A GROUP FROM FCA WILL BE GOING TO THE ROCK AND WORSHIP ROADSHOW at the Mid-America Center in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  The tickets are $10 and can only be purchased at the door.  The doors open at 4:30 and the concert starts at 6:00.  The bands that will be performing include FEE, Sidewalk Prophets, Francesca Battestelli, Family Force 5, Remedy Drive, The David Crowder Band, and Mercy Me.  If you're interested, sign up on Miss Messerer's door on or before Monday, March 15th so that we can figure out transportation.

IMMUNIZATION CLINIC SET FOR MARCH 16TH:  There will be an immunization clinic held at David City High School on March 16th at 9:30 a.m.  This will include Meningitis shots and Tdap shots for grades 6-12.  All incoming 7th graders must now have one dose of Tdap (must contain pertussis booster) any time after 10 or 11 years of age depending on which brand of vaccine is received.  The meningococcal vaccine is suggested fro college freshmen living in dormitories and teenagers 15-19 years of age.  Forms are in the office and MUST be turned in by Wednesday, March 10th.  If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Robinson at the high school office (367-3187).

CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVI C.!  Davi qualified for state Geographic Bee to be held on March 9th.  She is one of the top 100 students from schools across the state. The contest is open to 5-8th graders and will be held at UNO.

BOYS BASKETBALL RECOGNITION DINNER has been scheduled for Tuesday, March 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the Elementary Multi-purpose Room.  All families are asked to bring a meat dish.  Juniors and Seniors' families are asked to bring a salad or side dish.  Families of Sophomores and Freshmen are asked to bring a dessert. Drinks are provided but everyone needs to bring their own table service.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2010 DISTRICT SPEECH CHAMPS! David City 1st with 139 points.  Raymond Central 2nd with 128 points.  State Qualifiers:  Staci O.: 1st in Informative and 2nd in Persuasive; Elizabeth H.:   1st in Extemporaneous and 1st in Persuasive; Cody K.: 1stin Humorous and 3rd in Poetry; Dillon H. & Brad M.:  1st in Duet Acting; Emma M.:  1st in Serious Prose; OID Team of Kaleb S., Dillon H., Lukas F., Sidnee P. & Aubrie B.:  2nd; Christina O.: 3rd in Informative.  Qualifying for finals and medaling but not qualifying for state:  Courtney B.:  4th i Serious; Emma M.:  4th in Entertainment; OID Team of Christina O., Courtney B., Craig H. & Alissa T.: 4th; Brad M.:  5th in Humorous; Lukas F.: 6th in Extemporaneous; Kaleb S.: 6th in Entertainment.  Great job!!!

CHESS TOURNAMENT COMING UP:  The 16th Annual Butler County Open Chess Tournament will be held on Sunday March 14 at 2:00 p.m. at the Hruska Memorial  Library.  Entry fee is $4.  Four Divisions and ALL experience levels are welcome.  Bring your favorite chess set.  For more info, call 367-4615. Sponsored by Knights of Columbus Council #1717.

DRIVER'S EDUCATION CLASSES begin on March 8th.  See Mr. Kamrath ASAP to sign up. cost is $280.
