Today we came together to honor those who have served our nation. A special thanks to VFW Post 5814 and American Legion Post 125 for providing the Color Guard. The DCHS band and choir provided wonderful musical tributes to our veterans. Auxiliary members shared important thoughts and a poem, and the 8th graders did a great job leading the program and also shared a poem. Olivia Palensky, Harrison Blades, and Jaelyn Dvorak were recognized for their top entries in the Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy contests. The ceremony ended with a stirring gun salute and “Taps” played by senior Kaylee Dresch.
A huge thank-you to all who participated—our students, staff, veterans, and community members—for making this day meaningful and memorable.
