David City Public Schools hosted its annual staff recognition banquet on Friday night. Staff who reached various career milestones with the district in 5-year increments were honored. Amy Backstrom and Mary Veskrna were both recognized for teaching 30 years with the district. Sheralyn Harms and Angie Moore were both given the Helping Hand Award as classified staff members of the year. Amy Backstrom and Elizabeth Grosc were both recognized as Educators of the Year. Congratulations to all staff members who were recognized with milestone or special awards. A special thanks to all our AMAZING staff who are difference makers for our students and dedicate countless hours to the district.




Track Schedule Update: The Twin River track meet that was postponed to May 6th has been cancelled. The JV Track team will now be attending the Seward JV Track Meet on Monday, May 5th. Field Events start at 4:00, Running events at 5:00.
The Bank of the Valley sponsors Banking in Schools for our elementary students. Bellwood Elementary students who participated in this program and saved a $100 this year walked to the Bellwood branch
for an end of the year celebration. Students toured the bank, had a pizza party, and played BINGO. Thanks so much to the Bank of the Valley for all you do for our students!










The Lady Scout Basketball "Shot Club" starts today! Forms were sent home with girls in all grades, deadline isn't until October 31st. If you need another copy, you can email schlautmans@dcscouts.org. There are some new prizes this year and a lot of time to get some makes while getting better. Good luck!

Yesterday was a great day for the Scout Track teams. The girls were Shelby-Rising City Invite Champions and the boys took home Runner-up! Next up, SNC meet on Saturday!

Congrats to the David City golf team on their first place finish at the David City Invite today. Individual medalists include Keaton Busch 2nd, Jesse Divis 3rd and Xavier Boss 6th. Team total was 312. Yutan finished in 2nd place with a 322.
The Howells-Dodge JV Golf meet scheduled for tomorrow, April 24th has been cancelled.
The HS track meet scheduled for Thursday, April 24 at Twin River has been postponed.
