The 2025 Scout of the Year is the Head Scout himself, Mr. Couch!!! He is always able to bring out the very best in people. Every day for the last 29 years, he has been proud to be a Scout and has demonstrated what it means to be a Scout. Great Job, Mr. Couch, and thank you for another great year at David City Jr. Sr. High!!


Congrats to the Scout golf team on their 4th place finish at the Fullerton Invite today at Pawnee Hills Golf Course with a score of 333. Congrats to Jesse Divis (15th place), Keaton Busch (9th place) and Cameron Hlavac (8th place) individually.

The track team traveled to Fillmore Central last week where the girls finished as meet Champions and the boys were Runner-Up. Many PR's and gutsy performances! Next up, Districts on Thursday at David City. Come out and support!
We also had a SCHOOL RECORD broken! Kambri Andel broke her own school record in the long jump with a jump of 17-10!


Scout Activities for the week of May 12th


Congrats to the golf team on their fourth place finish at the SNC golf tourney today at Heartland. Congrats to Jesse Divis on his 10th place medal individually. Way to compete today when we did not have our best stuff Scouts!

Congratulation Catlyn, on receiving the DCHS Alumni Association Larry Heins Ag Memorial Scholarship from Jeanette Heins. Great Job!!!


Summer Meal Program Option


David City Elementary participated in our spring Walk/Bike to School Day on Wednesday May 7th. Thank you to our local David City Police Officers for handing out stickers and playing with the kids on the playground.









Reese Svoboda has been selected as a Scott Scholars Scholarship recipient. This is a very select group of students who want to participate in an exclusive learning program majoring or double majoring in the area of biology, chemistry, physics, business or math. The renewable scholarship covers 100 percent tuition and fees , plus room and meals, and provides $2,000 in annual educational enrichment funding. Congratulations Reese!!!!!


Thanks to all the moms, grandmas and female role models that came to Bellwood Elementary's VIP breakfast this morning. We had a great turn out, and the students really enjoyed having special guests at breakfast.










Make sure to check out the silent auction tonight hosted by DCHS FCCLA during the band concert. There will be plenty of baskets to bid on including the ones pictured below. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of new red blazers and helping our chapter members cover expenses associated with attending nationals this summer!

Congratulations to Ava, Davi, & Justin - the May 2nd Scouts of the Week!


The high school track team competed at the Southern Nebraska Conference track meet on Saturday where the girls took home a runner-up finish and the boys ended up in 7th place.

Both Bellwood and David City Elementary Schools will have a pajama day on this Thursday, May 8th. If students would like, they can donate money to the backpack program.
