David City Elementary is proud to offer Homework Club as part of our morning clubs! This club gives students a quiet, supportive space to work on assignments, finish homework, or get organized for the day ahead.

This is a friendly reminder regarding student supervision during David City activities and events.

Students and children attending David City activities are expected to either watch the game/event or remain under the direct supervision of a parent or guardian. Recently, we have seen an increase in unsupervised children in the commons area during games and activities.

For the safety of all students and to maintain a positive environment, unsupervised children will be expected to remain in the gym and watch the game. We ask for your help by closely supervising your children while attending events or by making arrangements for them to remain at home if supervision is not possible.

We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us provide a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone attending David City activities.

📚 Morning Club Spotlight: Reading Club! 📚

At David City Elementary, we love starting the day with a good book! Our Morning Reading Club gives students a calm, positive way to ease into the school day while building strong reading habits.

📅 Monday–Friday
⏰ 7:30–7:50 a.m.

Each day looks a little different—students may enjoy silent reading, partner reading, or listening to a read-aloud. No matter the format, one thing stays the same: students are beginning their day engaged, focused, and connected to reading.

We’re proud to offer opportunities that support both learning and a love of books. We hope to see lots of readers there!

Last week 19 David City FFA members competed at our first round of district contests to qualify for State FFA in March! While we didn't have any state qualifiers in a highly competitive district, everyone competed very well and tried something new. We are looking forward to our final round of district contests in a couple weeks!

🏀 Morning Club Spotlight: Dribble Club! 🏀

At David City Elementary, our mornings are off to an active start! Dribble Club gives students a fun way to get moving while practicing their basketball dribbling skills from 7:30–7:50 a.m. Students build coordination, confidence, and healthy habits before the school day even begins.

We love seeing our students energized and ready to learn—Dribble Club is a great way to do just that! Stay tuned as we spotlight our other morning clubs in an upcoming post.

Last week, our senior boys wrestlers honored a staff member who made a lasting impact on their high school journey by presenting them with a shirt.

On Friday, those same seniors stepped onto the mat for their final home meet.

Today, 16 Scout Choir Members performed in the UNK Choir Festival. It was a great day of music and learning and a fantastic concert.

Bellwood Elementary students enjoyed their first Spanish lessons today. The students really enjoy the DCHS Spanish 4 students coming to Bellwood to teach these lessons.

David City Elementary had a 100-tastic time celebrating the 100th day of school! Students and staff dressed up like they were 100 years old and filled the day with fun, hands-on activities in the classroom to mark this big milestone.

It was a day full of learning, laughter, and school spirit. We’re so proud of all the hard work our students have done over the last 100 days—and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the school year brings!
