Reminder: The David City Public Schools' Elementary Track Meets are this Friday, May 15th. The public is welcome to attend.

David City Public Schools 3rd–6th grade HAL (High Ability Learner) students spent the day at Lake Wanahoo for a field trip to wrap up their environmental studies unit. Students participated in engaging, hands-on learning experiences led by Lower Platte North Natural Resources District, including activities focused on water topics, macroinvertebrates, and birding. It was a fantastic day of exploration and learning in the outdoors!

Scout Activities for the week of May 11, 2026

On Friday, eight bright scholars participated in Wayne State Math Day, where they completed a challenging exam in their respective math classes.

Receiving recognition were Kaydence F. - 5th in Pre-Algebra, Deborah V. - 9th in Algebra 2, and Rylee T. - 2nd in Pre-Calculus. Three additional students placed one spot away from being in the top 5 or 10 of their group.

It's time for the David City FFA Plant Sale! Come visit the greenhouse today from 3:45-6 and tomorrow from 9-3. Remember - if you choose to purchase something, we only accept cash. We hope to see you there!

CCC decided not to do an actuall All-Star game this year. Instead, they sent a list of players from the 25 county service area and all coaches voted on who they thought were the 10 best. Congrats to Kambri Andel for being selected as one of those 10!! She was posted on their web page and will also recieve a commemorative medallion.

Bellwood Elementary had a full house this morning as we welcomed some Very Important People to our annual VIP Breakfast for K–5 students! Students were excited to invite a special female role model to join them for breakfast and quality time together. It was wonderful to see so many moms, grandmas, and aunts in attendance as special guests. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning so memorable for our students!

Downtown Bellwood was buzzing with activity this morning as Bellwood Elementary hosted our Annual Spring Walk, Bike, or Roll to School Day! Despite the brisk weather, students and staff embraced the fresh air, enjoying both the exercise and time to connect. It's always a student favorite and a great way to start the day!

A great start to the day! Our National Honor Society students were out bright and early, welcoming elementary students during Walk or Ride Your Bike to School Day. Their friendly greetings and energy helped create a fun, positive atmosphere as students started their day.

Tonight, Bellwood Elementary and David City Elementary hosted the 4th–6th Grade Music and Band Concert! 🎶🎺🎤

Our students showcased their hard work, dedication, and talent as they performed the music they had been preparing. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for making it a wonderful evening of music and support!
