Happy Valentine's Day from Bellwood Elementary! The Bellwood Student Leadership Team started out the day by taking the Hot Cocoa Express around to each classroom to deliver hot chocolate. The students enjoyed the special treat.

The girls basketball team will be heading to Minden to play in the C1-7 sub-district at Minden High School on Tuesday, Feb 18th. The Lady Scouts will play Holdrege at 7:00.

Reminder that the game times for the basketball games scheduled for Friday, Feb 14th against Wilber- Clatonia have been changed. The JV boys and girls will play at 4:30pm followed by the girls varsity at 6:00 and the boys varsity at 7:30. We will be doing parents night before each of the varsity games.

Bellwood Elementary had our February Senior Citizen Lunch yesterday. Thanks to our cooks for making a delicious lunch of chili and cinnamon rolls. Thanks as well to everyone who attended. Our students really enjoy having special guests at school!

Bellwood Elementary Students have been participating in ReadBowl 2025 where they tracked their minutes reading outside of school for the last 4 weeks leading up to the Super Bowl. As a school, the students read 29,935 minutes ,which is nearly 499 hours of reading. The second grade class won the Pre-K through 2nd grade competition, and the 5th grade class won the 3rd through 5th grade competition. Thanks to everyone for supporting this event and encouraging our students to read.
